This policy is written in plain language by Cappuccino's founder, not a law firm. It accurately describes what we do today and what we plan to do as the product launches. Before Cappuccino opens to the public, this document will be reviewed by a qualified attorney — treat it as a good-faith draft, not a final legal instrument, until that review is complete.
Cappuccino ("we," "us," "our") operates cappuccino.pet and, once launched, a web application that helps dog owners track their pet's health records. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Cappuccino is currently in private, pre-launch development — if you're reading this before the app has publicly launched, some sections describe what will be true once it does, and we've labeled those clearly.
Right now, cappuccino.pet is a landing page in private build. The only information we collect is:
We do not currently collect any information about you or your pet beyond your email address. We don't ask for your name, your dog's name, or anything else at this stage.
Our early access list is handled by Formspree, a third-party form service. When you submit your email, Formspree processes and stores it on our behalf, and may also record technical details such as your IP address and the time of submission as part of its standard spam protection. We use this only to operate the early list. You can ask us to delete your email at any time — see Section 12.
When Cappuccino's full product launches, creating an account and using the service will involve collecting:
You control what you upload. Cappuccino only processes the records you choose to provide.
We use the information above to:
Cappuccino uses Anthropic's Claude API to read and extract structured data from the medical records you upload. This means your uploaded documents are transmitted to Anthropic for processing, subject to Anthropic's own data handling terms. We choose AI providers with strong data-handling commitments, and we do not permit training of third-party models on your identifiable pet health data.
We also use infrastructure providers to run the app and store your data securely — currently Supabase (database and file storage). These providers process data on our behalf, under agreements that restrict them from using it for their own purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your pet's health data to anyone, for any purpose — including advertising. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your explicit consent first, not bury it in fine print.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, so your dog's full health history stays available to you. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and uploaded records within 30 days, except where we're required to retain limited information for legal or security purposes. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us (see Section 12).
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and row-level security on our database — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously given the sensitivity of health-adjacent data.
Cappuccino is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. We honor these requests regardless of your location. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
We'll update this page as the product evolves, and we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top when we do. For material changes — anything that affects how your data is used — we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you directly, not just post a silent update.
