Like the Privacy Policy, this is a plain-language draft written by Cappuccino's founder. It will be reviewed by a qualified attorney before the product opens to the public — especially given the health-adjacent nature of the product. Treat this as an honest starting point, not a finished legal instrument.
By using cappuccino.pet or the Cappuccino app (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Cappuccino is a web application that helps dog owners organize their pet's medical records and understand trends in lab results over time. It's built to help you have better, more informed conversations with your veterinarian — not to replace them.
Cappuccino is not a licensed veterinarian and does not practice veterinary medicine. Nothing in the Service — including any report, flag, trend, or message you receive — constitutes veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All content is provided for informational purposes only.
Always seek the advice of a licensed veterinarian with any questions about your dog's health. Never disregard professional veterinary advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you saw in Cappuccino. If you believe your dog is experiencing a medical emergency, contact your vet or an emergency animal hospital immediately.
Cappuccino uses artificial intelligence (including Anthropic's Claude models) to read uploaded medical records and generate reports. AI systems can make mistakes — they may misread a value, miss context a human would catch, or phrase something imprecisely. Always review AI-extracted values against your original documents, and treat every report as a starting point for a conversation with your vet, not a final word.
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Cappuccino account. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree not to:
You own the pet profile information and medical records you upload. By uploading content, you give us a limited license to store, process, and display it back to you as part of providing the Service (for example, extracting lab values and generating your reports). We do not use your content to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell it. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
The Cappuccino name, logo, and the Service's design and code are owned by Faye Livia. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our permission.
You can stop using Cappuccino and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any AI-extracted data or report will be fully accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cappuccino is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any decisions made based on information in the Service. This includes, without limitation, any outcome related to your pet's health. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
[Placeholder — to be finalized with attorney review based on the state/jurisdiction of incorporation.] These terms will be governed by the laws of the founder's home jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll update the date at the top when we do, and we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you of material changes directly.
